Our Story

Humble Beginnings

Favored Evangelistic Ministries International began in the villages of western Uganda through the simple but courageous faith of a young boy, Lamech Natukwatsa. After accepting Jesus Christ, he faced rejection at home and in his community. What started as quiet house to house prayer, reading scripture under lamplight, and small gatherings with neighbors became the foundation of a ministry that would continue for decades.

Early Ministry Work

The first years were marked by simplicity. Prayers were held in homes, on verandas, and sometimes outdoors under trees. Evangelism was done on foot, on bicycles, and later with basic transport shared among members. Drums by the roadside drew people together for fellowship, worship, and encouragement. These early meetings became the starting point for small groups of believers who continued to gather regularly even when conditions were difficult.

Growth of Village Fellowships

Over many years, these small groups multiplied across western Uganda and beyond. While often referred to as “branches,” most of these groups do not have permanent structures. They meet in family compounds, borrowed rooms, unfinished buildings, or under temporary shelters. Each group represents people who desire to worship, pray, and grow together even without the stability of a formal church facility.

A Mobile Ministry

FEMI has remained a mobile ministry for most of its existence. Crusades, teaching sessions, prayer gatherings, and community outreach are often held in open spaces or rented areas. Equipment such as tents, chairs, sound systems, and generators must be transported from place to place. Internet bundles for livestreaming, fuel for travel, and generator costs in areas without electricity have always been part of the ministry’s reality.

This mobility has allowed the ministry to reach many communities, but it has also meant operating with limited resources and without a permanent base.

Expanding Reach

As technology grew, the ministry stepped into online platforms. Livestreams on Facebook and YouTube created a way to reach people who could not attend services in person. Many viewers follow from Uganda, East Africa, and different countries around the world. These online gatherings are an extension of the same simple heart the ministry began with: bringing encouragement, teaching, and prayer to those who seek it.

Commitment to People

FEMI’s journey has always centered on people. Over the years, the ministry has developed activities such as children’s teaching, youth fellowship, women’s empowerment, literacy support, worship teams, and basic skills training. Each department began from the desire to uplift families and communities using whatever resources were available at the time.

Looking Ahead

After many years of serving through mobile outreach, the ministry continues to pray and plan for a stable place where gatherings, training, worship, and community support can grow in a structured and sustainable way. The heart of the ministry has not changed since the beginning: to reach those who feel forgotten, to encourage believers, and to walk alongside communities with faith and compassion.
